Introduction to Fusion 360 – Overview of capabilities, navigation, toolbars, environment settings, and workspaces (Design, Render, Animation, Documentation). Setting up and saving projects in the cloud.
2D Sketching – Creating sketches using Line, Circle, Arc, Rectangle, and constraints. Best practices for defining/dimensioning sketches. Exercises on precision sketching.
3D Modeling Basics – Extrude, Revolve, Sweep, Fillet, Chamfer, Shell. Combining bodies (Join, Cut, Intersect). Practical hands-on geometry creation.
Patterns & Assemblies – Circular/rectangular patterns, creating components/joints, advanced Modify tools, simple assembly creation.
Surface Modeling – Creating surfaces (Patch, Extrude, Loft), editing with Trim, Stitch, Extend.
Form Environment – Sculpting techniques: manipulating vertices, edges, faces.
Rendering & Documentation – Applying appearances, environment settings, cameras, high-quality renders, creating 2D drawings from 3D models, exporting manufacturing files.
Module 2: Fusion 360 CAM (Manufacturing) What You’ll Learn:
Introduction to CAM – Setting up the CAM workspace, toolpath basics, material/tool library setup.
2.5-Axis Milling – Machining concepts, creating/simulating toolpaths, slotting, drilling, facing, G-code post-processing.
3-Axis Milling – Contouring, pocketing, adaptive clearing, toolpath simulation/optimization.
Additive Manufacturing – Setting up 3D printing workflows, design for manufacturability, generating/exporting STL files.
Turning Operations – Lathe setup, facing, roughing, finishing, turning toolpath generation.
Applications & Case Studies – Hands-on CAM exercises, real-world manufacturing problem-solving.
Module 3: Fusion 360 Generative Design What You’ll Learn:
Generative Design Fundamentals – Benefits, workspace navigation, design constraints/goals.
Study Setup – Defining objectives, loads, constraints, materials, and manufacturing methods.
